A Prodigal’s Mail Call

During my years of confinement, God graciously provided people who faithfully prayed for and maintained contact with me.  Their letters occasionally were painful – constructive criticism, chastisement, and honest feelings about my actions – but were always eagerly anticipated and encouraging.  The simple fact that there were those outside the fence who still loved me and cared about what happened to me was a blessing beyond description.

Some of these letters are so wonderfully written and so obviously inspired by the Holy Spirit that I would like to share them with you.  I will try to comment on them and will attempt to place them in context for you.

I thank God for these people of God.  I have been truly blessed by their presence in my life.
